About Taylor McKay Smith
Born and raised in Canada, Taylor McKay has worked as an international model in Paris, Milan, Hamburg, Munich, Tokyo, Osaka, New York, and Cape Town. Over the years, she has worked with brands such as Italian Vogue, Chanel, Valentino Red, Viktor & Rolf, Escada, Garnier, L’Oréal, M·A·C, Aveda, and Helmut Lang, experiences that shaped her creative eye.
In addition to her modeling career, Taylor has appeared as an actress in television series including Murdoch Mysteries and Saving Hope, as well as in films such as Double Date and Dead Rivalry. Her on-camera experience informs her approach behind the lens, bringing an understanding of storytelling to her photography.
As a photographer, Taylor creates captivating visuals for fashion and lifestyle brands such as Esker Beauty, WMN Space, Mother Muse Magazine, Pondicherie, Ansea, Vitruvi, Goop, Violet Grey, Hatch Collection, Rudy Jude, Ogee, Osea, Avocado Green, Anine Bing and more. Her work extends beyond the commercial sphere to include intimate family, maternity, and motherhood portraits, where she celebrates the beauty of connection. With a warm, natural aesthetic and a sensitivity to her subjects, Taylor captures the tenderness of each stage of motherhood, crafting timeless images that honor life’s most meaningful moments.
Beyond her creative work, Taylor is a passionate advocate for women’s health. A trained wellness counselor and birth doula, she has on ongoing partnership with Perelel Health and the 4th Trimester nonprofit, and has spoken on topics of pregnancy, childbirth, and body image at events including the Path to Parenthood Summit and Elevate Women’s Health Roundtable. In 2025, she co-created Haven for Moms, a pop-up sanctuary offering care and community for mothers in Los Angeles during the Palisades & Eaton fires.
